"Vancouver has one of the most ambitious environmental stewardship programs in the world."
Deputy City Manager Sadhu Johnston

As a project within Vancouver's Campus City Collaborative, CityStudio is the energetic hub and center for sustainability education in the region, aiming to become the world’s most innovative inter-institutional projects for learning and implementation of urban sustainability strategies.

The goal of CityStudio Vancouver is to directly involve students, professors and universities in the implementation of Vancouver’s Greenest City 2020 goals. The City is the Classroom where students work on long-term, real world projects. The first year will see over 400 students and 18 instructors contribute over 20,000 hours to Vancouver's Greenest City plan.

CityStudio Vancouver is co-directed by Duane Elverum (Emily Carr University of Art and Design) and Dr. Janet Moore (Simon Fraser University – Centre for Dialogue). The project partners are:

  • The City of Vancouver
  • Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC),
  • British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT),
  • Emily Carr University of Art and Design,
  • Langara College,
  • Simon Fraser University (SFU),
  • University of British Columbia (UBC) and
  • Vancouver Community College (VCC).

Please join us Saturday December 10th to celebrate the hard work and Greenest City project contributions by the students, instructors, and the whole CityStudio team.

See you on Saturday!
